Welcome To TOL Designs Award Program
The following is helpful hints and suggestions for submitting your site for elvaluation.
Please read the criteria before submitting your site for review. Judging scores are listed
under the criteria.
Your whole site must be family safe and cannot, contain nudity,profanity, bigotry towards humanity, and/or illegal material.
A site should show originality, copyrights must be noted if you are not using your own graphics, midis, ect.
A. Content must be more than a list of links or awards.
B. Site should offer an appealing visual flow through out the site.
C. Design should fit the content of your site and pages.
If your site is large and broken into sections I make allowances, as long as the graphics
match the theme to that area of your site.
If music or sound is in use there must be a visible off switch for music/sound.
Blinking text is a eye sore and a distraction.
Alt tags with width and height should be in use.
The ALT option of the IMG tag is so people
with non-graphical browsers will still
be able to identify where they are.

Navigation of the site must be clear
and easy to follow.
Must be in English. If you have a non english site and offer a clearly marked link to a translated mirror site, I will review your site.
Taking more than 2 minutes for a page to load with a 56 modem with todays modems and connections should not be a issue for any site.
I do allow additional time for sites hosted at servers like geocities,
ect. I understand that you are not always in control and make allowance.
Any Java applets used must fit the content and be worth looking at.

If you are younger than 13 years of age you must
have your parent or legal guardian apply for an award
for your site. U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection
Act.
Please remeber that flash, frames and java can be used to enhance any site,
but if it locks up a browser, or makes navigation difficult for the visitor
you have defeated your purpose. The old saying "keep it simple" sometimes weighs
a lot more with me than all the gagets in the world.

Awards are sized at 120 X 192 pixels
Awards are sent by email with award notice.
Upon request you may ask for copy of your rating score.
These awards are given to both commercial and personal sites.
